Daniel Pecena was born in 1977 in former Czechoslovakia.
He developed a passion for photography on his travels in south-east Africa in 2001. Between the years 2003-04 lived in Edinburgh where he studied courses Documentary film and Philosophy of Art at the Edinburgh University.
He also lived in Northern Ireland for some time. During the years 2005-06 he successfully studied and completed Diploma in Interpersonal Communication with the emphasis on intercultural communication at the University of London (Birkbeck College).
Daniel is a self-taught photographer with an unique vision and the eye for detail. In his photography he is devoted to portraits, landscape as well as to documentary work and he takes mostly on the elements connected to culture, geological and architectural structures and enviromental aspects.
Since 2004 he also publishes articles that together with his photographs create a comprehensive visual and narrative whole. Daniel currently lives and works in London.
